I bought beige and olive color, the olive which is the darker color, a bit darker than I anticipated, but works better than beige, I would said beige block 70~75% of the light, while olive block 85~90% of light, color selection does matter, none of the color are complete blackout, still have some light come through, but I have tried Eclipse Frisco vigor Efficien from walmart, come in 1 piece curtain only, but solid thermal insulated curtain works a bit better and it come in 2 pieces, for better effect, you can put on 2 layer curtains, with a thiner layer inside, you will get close to 95~98% blackout effect.
